12 O'clock High 01.15 "Those Who Are About to Die"

The 918th is given a very rough mission with a 1/3 projected death toll, however weather prevents take off. Tom Lockridge is on sick report for an illness. Only 1 mission stands between him and completing his tour of duty (25 missions). His fiance nurse, Libby wants him to stay on sick leave to avoid his probable death. Libby goes behind Tom's back to ask Gen. Savage to ground Tom. Savage tells her that if he grounds Tom she'll save his life, but she wont have the man she fell in love with...
A powerful episode!

Finding well camouflaged targets is a challenge for the 918th so a recon mission by Gen.Savage results in his B-17 crash landing in France. After defending himself from a French attacker with a pitchfork, Savage is wrongly accused of murder and put on trial by a basement band of French Nazi sympathizers.

A war correspondent is sure one of Gen. Savage's gunners (and a friend) is a escaped murderer. When the correspondent mysteriously dies in an accident, an unconvinced Savage decides to have the gunner's fingerprints processed. On a mission the General's B-17 is badly damaged and Savage injured, is left alone, blinded with the suspected gunner. Probably one of the best episodes of the series! A+!

A drugged Gen. Savage is found wandering the early dawn streets of Archbury. Realizing he's been framed for murder he slowly recalls a chain of events that lead to him as a prime suspect. A wonderfully crafted murder mystery!

A stowaway clerk finds out on a mission that he has a talent for much needed gunnery skills. However his conscientious objector status has him very rattled after shooting down a Nazi fighter yet Savage needs gunners desperately. He must convince the clerk his beliefs are too idealistic. Very powerful episode.

The memorized plans for an air offensive are only in Gen. Savages head. Getting them to his base could pose a problem when his staff car is run off the road during a night raid on London. Trapped in a suburban home at the gun point of a downed Nazi pilot, Savage must outwit his captor with no help from the home's owner, an apathetic lady of the night no longer vested in the Allied or Axis outcome...

The well camouflaged building will prove elusive for the 918th, unless a shot down P.O.W. and personal friend of Gen. Savage can find some way mark to it for destruction.

12OclockHighTV.com Tennessee farm boy Andy Lathrop (Peter Fonda) shows extraordinary talent as a bombardier and is taken under the wing of Gen. Savage. Those puffs of smoke in his bombsight are but only a job, and Gen Savage wants him to make a career out of the USAAF, until Andy falls in love... Probably one of the most powerful episodes in the history of TV. A wonderfully skillful and crafted story!
